You can never brick an iphone...the ios is hardwired in the cpu chip...

Easy to recover. Just go to itunes, plug in the phone and let it restore the latest ios, in this case 4.1.

Once done, download limera1n, and enjoy the jailbreak and unlock!!

Another question, to jailbreak is it the same as unlocking the phone so as to use it on any diserable network or does it mean enabling the phone to multitask, record video and the likes... an kinda confused?Pray

Word of advise @Mwariama, Backup your iphone before you start doing anything. Incase anything goes wrong, you can restore from back up.....

@PuthyKrasha - it will enable you use third party apps if am not wrong.

an iphone cannot be bricked or disabled permanently. You can always plug it to itunes and restore it to stock firmware

Jalibreaking is allowing yourself to use apps not necessarily from itunes (i.e freeing yourself from Jobs' field of distortion!!!).

Unlocking is allowing your phone to work with any sim card.

Both different.

If the iphone is already in a loop of death, dont bother backing up...the bug will be saved and will be back once you restore the backup.

Just do a clean restore...and enjoy the best selling smartphone on the planet!!!

They charge more coz the iphone isn't any other phone..you cannot compare those bricks from Nokia to this product...the os is decades ahead...

@PuthyKrasha, where did you buy your iphone, locally or US? Am also looking to upgrade mine (1G) which has given loud hints that it may be dying on me soon...... but the prices being quoted around here in Nbi are ridiculous for a refurbished iphone 3G yawa...
