My son has watched these videos of Your baby can read during lunchtime since he was three months old. he is 13 months old now and can recognize 25-50 words in print. he is best with verbs like: clap, wave, point, arms up, jump, etc. I can write these words clearly on paper, or type them in large font in MS Word, and he will immediately respond. We have also reinforced the videos with occasional flashcards (a few times a week). More often than not the flashcards lay in a pile on the floor and he enjoys rifling through them. We also read books to him, and he has developed a huge love of books. These days, he loves to wander around the house with one in his hand, occasionally plopping down to flip the pages. He doesn't read the books of course, but he will sometimes act out or sign the words he recognizes. If he continues on his current track, I have no doubt he will actually be reading within a year. One other piece that has helped us be successful with these videos is that our son does not watch much other television. We've tried to shield him from fast-action cartoons and commercials. When he was younger, we didn't let him see anything more exciting that Charlie Rose and these videos . My personal opinion is that lightning-fast camera cuts program impressionable brains in an undesirable fashion. Our son still loves his videos. He dances and squeals at the opening music. He especially loves the songs, and he acts out many of the words. That said, I think he is advancing beyond these videos . I'll be looking for something to take her to the next level (sentences). If nothing can be found, there is always Microsoft Word and PowerPoint! I would not call my child gifted. I think most children can learn to read at a very young age, given the right circumstances. These videos can be part of those circumstances. I also believe the same results can be achieved with flash cards (or sitting in front of a word processor on the computer) and a dedicated adult. These videos made the process a bit easier for us!

Gossip Girl is a great nighttime teenage soap. I am absolutely in love with this show. I can watch these over and over and never get bored. About time they made a show worth watching. Based on a series of eleven bestselling and controversial novels by Cecily von Ziegesar, Season One of Gossip Girl introduced us to a small circle of privileged, prep-school friends living in New York's Upper East Side confronted with teenage issues including sex, drugs, relationships, and bulimia. The series features a gossipy voiceover narrative (by Kristen Bell), who blogs about her exclusive circle of friends: Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively), her best friend Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), Blair's former boyfriend, Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford), Nate's best friend Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), Serena's former boyfriend, Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley), his sister Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen), and best friend Vanessa Abrams (Jessica Szohr). New York City is prominently featured in the eighteen episodes of Season one. Season One opened with Serena's return to New York City following a mysterious self-imposed exile in Connecticut after her sexual tryst with her best friend's boyfriend, which was witnessed by corrupt bad-boy, Chuck. Each episode was cleverly-titled ("The Wild Brunch," "The Handmaiden's Tale," "Seventeen Candles," "Roman Holiday," "The Thin Line between Chuck and Nate," "The Blair Bitch Project," and "Woman on the Verge"), the characters were well-drawn, the plot lines were intelligent, and the soundtrack was edgy. In my Review of Season One, I said Gossip Girl is simply televsion at its best. I must say that this is one of the best shows for young adult to watch. If you love drama and wish to stay a young adult for a while watch gossip girl .

Two and a Half Men is a guy show that sets feminism back a good three decades. Women are portrayed as either bimbonic objects of lust (Transformers' Megan Fox guest stars as Berta's teenage granddaughter), vengeful and retaliative (Heather Locklear as Alan's divorce lawyer), crazy hot (Jenna Elfman as an unstable single mother on the run), or emasculating (Holland Taylor as Charlie and Alan's mother, or, as Charlie refers to her, "Mom, the Impaler"). The charming Melanie Lynskey's is a particularly thankless role, that of Rose, Charlie's "insightful and disturbing" stalker, who becomes Jake's babysitter. While Charlie's "bad-boy act" could quickly get old in lesser hands, Sheen, in the past not the most natural of comic actors, is in his element. Charlie's genuine affection for Jake goes a long way toward redeeming his character (and lack of it). Two and a Half Men, a People's Choice Award-winner its first season, really adds up with a crudely funny sense of humor that is all kinds of wrong, but also smart and, at times, even sweet. This amazing comedic sitcom just keeps getting better and better. In fact, I've enjoyed it so much that I've actually watched the same episodes over right after I've just seen them. All the characters are terrific and I could not say that one is better than the other. The show would not be what it is without the stellar cast. I must admit, I never thought that Charlie was acting, just being himself. Alan plays off Charlie brilliantly and the timing of the entire cast is just wonderful. A show not to be missed by anyone with a good sense of humor! Two and a Half Men is one of the best comedy programs on television today. It is an adult situation around male comedy about women. We have watched since the beginning we look forward to having this seventh season to keep our seasons updated. We are also happy two more years have been bought by CBS. It is a no brain program with no hidden messages, with exception of who will Charlie end up with (and most agree it needs to be Rose) and will Alan ever foot the bill for his home. This is a great cast and wonderfully funny situations by the writers. You won't be disappointed with Two and a Half Men 's seventh season. Laughs around every corner! My Mom gets her laughs when she wants. If it's not on T.V. then she pop a DVD in. Tons of episodes on each disc! (not the usual 4-5)! I dig it, Old Lady loves it, get caught up already!
