Despite the shame on our level of football management in Kenya and passing my condolences to the bereaved families. To the departed may your souls be in eternal peace.
Now the league is once more open with three more games to go Ulinzi having lost to Western Stima yesterday, Gor is now three points adrift followed by Tusker who are not relenting.Sofapaka lost so for them its as good as over.
With the remaining matches i only see a more interesting league and a good well improved league games.
Come next season with good soccer management we will happily enjoy our game at the stadium's with more peace and security.
Let's wait and see if their will be improvements by all the stakeholders involved

On Saturday's game i don't think the penalty was deserved, the player clearly dived but the Ref had to give it because of the hostile crowd.

The choice of ref was questionable for such a 'derby'. How can such an important game be officiated by an Isaac Ochieng? Naturally blood is thicker than water.

@mwenza Isaac ochieng is the most experienced ref we have in Kenya and i only think it's fair with such a big match that we get an experienced referee.
Having a name like ochieng doesn't mean he favored Gor mahia. These is just laying blame where there is no blame that was a penalty and it was a very fair game overall.

I was at the match, and I think the penalty was 50-50. The call would have been okay either way. You cant fault the referee for his call. Even if he had not given a penalty, I would still have not faulted him, But Osama (the AFC defender who tripped blackberry)was being abit naive playing like that at such a crucial time and risky position

Being a K'ogela fan, I have no complaint

Gor biro yawne yo.....!

I think Mwenza has a point, just because Ochieng somehow the most "experienced" referee we have doesn't mean he won't favor Gor. You can't have Howard Webb officiating a match involving English teams in the Champions League regardless of his experience...but thats besides the point, i still believe the penalty was not deserved.

I think that we are taking this tribal thing too far. Do you guys know how many Luhyas have played for Gor and how many Luos have played for AFC? Even in the past match there was at least one Luhya in Gor's starting line up.

Just because Ochieng is Luo does not necessarily make him biased. You should judge the call o its own merits and the circumstances surrounding that particular play

Wow,
I had not even checked the name of the ref. Kenya kweli kuna mambo.
On the penalty I can't blame, any other referee could have given it or denied it based on his judgement and not the O-factor!!!!

Refereeing is normally very subjective............Thats why as much as I am a Man U fan, I still can't understand why Gary Neville never got a second yellow card in the match against Stoke.

Applying Mwenza'a Doctrine maybe the ref's name started with an N. Or he has relatives in Manchester.

In law they say justice should not only be done but should also be seen to be done. This is what the spirit of fair play is all about.

Agreed but I believe there is more to refereeing than experience. That is why in the days gone by, and as good as he was, GMT could never have officiated a match between Gor and AFC.

It was never a coincidence that in the 90's and early 2000 Kiragu and Baghazal used to be constant features in matches involving these two clubs.

More importantly who was the match commissioner in that match and why couldn't he suspend the match after learning of the events outside? I've seen so many matches suspended simply because of crowd trouble, what was so special with this Match?

Hehehehehehe...............Gor beats Thika United 1-0, courtesy of yet another PENALTY. This is the second penalty awarded to Gor in as many games. Need I say more?

Run Ulinzi, Run with the TITLE!!

If you take time to read through all my posts in this thread, you will know which local club I support. I have stated that very clearly in my posts.

FYI, the last time I checked, Ulinzi stars squad was "O", 98%.

Gor ni wezi! you can't win the league by being awarded penalties upto the ultimate match. Ulinzi gonna fly away with this trophy.
my team is WESTERN STIMA, mistake me not.

@Sober, hata AFC walipatiwa penalty and they did not score and lost the game!! The penalty for Gor was deserved, it was a clear shot on goal before the guy was fouled...
@Mwenza, I was even shocked that at Thika united, alot of O-factors and the western brothers....Can football heal this Nation from Tribalism?
