I approached one of the employees to ask for some assistance and he turns around and starts speaking to me in his mother tongue. I understood because many people assume I am from the kikuyu tribe because of my physical qualities. But I still think it is wrong. Considering that all the tuskys employees tend to speak in their mother tongue while in the supermarket, is it right they should extend this to their customers since tuskys is frequented by people from different tribes and cultures? Shame on you Shame on you

Nothing big there. We sometimes post here in swahili or sheng without much regard to whether a russian is reading. At such a close interpersonal level you should have informed them quickly. Nairobi is literally in the middle of kikuyuland. When i visit western/nyanza and someone speaks to me in luo or luhya, i don't rush to post here. Am a bit tired of this complaint 'someone spoke to me in kikuyu' nonesense, i think the complainers are more tribal, trying to say the kikuyus have a problem, because someone once in a while speaks to you in swahili without checking with you is no big deal. Grow up and use your head.
BTW what are these 'qualities' you have that make you look kikuyu? That is just an odd mentality you have there.

Pewa soda Much Know. Hapo umeongea kama wazee watatu. People whining about nothing. This man should even have thanked the Tusky's man for going the extra mile to make him feel at home. He may have been mistaken about the identity but I do not think his intention was anything but noble.

@kusadikika, true, i personally feel flattered when someone tries to be 'homely' with me. If a jango starts talking jeng to me, i try and make the session last as long as possible by responding 'kabisa' to every prompt i can detect and i sometimes get away with it, same for kikuyu 'phio phio', and many others. Guy should relax himself.
