I was waiting for the beginning of the 'new'millennium... Not the end... So this may be #1001

I hope KK releases 3Q 2010 Results but I doubt... In any case, I remain confident of my earlier 'forecast' ceteris paribus of 20/- by Sep 30 2013.

Seems that KK is looking at ADDITIONAL acquisitions in Southern Africa... By 2013, KK will be far more diversified within Africa...

Even though I'm wishing I had accumulated more, I'm also hoping to keep this for the long haul! This will be a big test to my policy of cashing in when I achieve my target!

KK may opt not to report Q3 results because they will be obliged to do so every quarter. A good example is EA Cables who still have to report their losses in this quarter.

I have uploaded CMA regulations here http://www.2shared.com/d...Markets__Securitie.html
which govern the release of quarterly results. Download the document on your PCs and straight into page 138 or for the sake of it the most relevant info is copy-pasted below.

Interim and quarterly reports
B.06 (1) In this part the terms -
“interim report” means half year financial reports
to be issued within sixty days of the interim
balance date;
“final report” means annual/ year end financial report;
“quarterly report” means a financial report, other than an
interim or final report, covering a period of three months,
issued in the course of a financial year on a best
practice basis.
(2) All interim reports shall be prepared in accordance
with the IAS 34 - Interim Financial Reporting and
IAS 1 - Presentation of Financial Statements and
any other relevant IAS requirement.
(3) All issuers who have adopted a quarterly reporting
practice shall, except in the case of a report issued
pursuant to paragraph B.18, continue to issue
reports on a quarterly basis in order to maintain
consistency.

This stock was/is rallyin because of international ol prices were starting to go up. Or what did you think the reason was ?Brilliant full year results come Dec ? No. today (27.10.2010) the dollar rallied and so oil prices retraced abit (there's that important correlation between dollar and oil prices),
thats why today it -kk- didnt move as much today.
And for those w/o eyes [ No pun intended ] we are in a general market correction.and some stocks like c0-0p ,Dtk need to take a breather so hold on to ur pants/skirt e.t.c tight

@the deal.. there are plenty of profit takers yet to be eliminated and that's partly because there hasn't been any material info on KK but I'm bullish on oil in the years of recovery to come and bearish on the dollar which means i have a responsibility to be bullish on KK....

i'm now hoping kakuzi or KCB can give me a good xmas Pray

KK benefits when oil prices drop [exceptions do apply] coz lower fuel prices means better margins [coz easier to pass on]

If it costs KK 50, they can sell at 60 [20% markup]
If it costs KK 80, they can sell at 90 [12.5% markup]

Once the selling price touches 100, there is severe resistance. I recall being in a high-rise at 5pm on a Friday overlooking Koinange St when petrol was at 107/-... there were very few cars out there... Folks were taking public transport OR not coming to the CBD...
[Or mwakwere was suspended]

Consumers don't as much about what margins are made by OMCs or taxes as much as the PRICE they pay... So petrol at 50/- with 50% taxes is more acceptable than 80/- with 20% taxes...

@VVS KK is able to benefit from rising oil prices because it will be able to sell stock it bought at a much lower price at a much higher price hence gaining much higher mark up than when the price falls....

Currently KK is still holding stocks of oil in inventory that it bought for $69 and now oil is almost $85

Thats why KK's stock price rises when oil rises and fell to its all time low in 2009 the same time oil was trading at its all time low of $30

This play is all about inventory held and bought in the past because with oil marketers oil bought today is always for much future use and not for use today....

@guru - You are stating the obvious. Read my post.

1) It can work either way. You can be left with 'expensive' stock. See Triton's gamble or even KK when it had pricey stocks.
2) I disagree that KK has $69 stock. Unless you have inside info, I believe you are mistaken for a number of reasons.
3) LOL... In 2009, everything was down! KQ was 20/-, KPLC was 100/-, Equity was 13, SCBK was 120, Williamson was 50, etc... Saying that KK was at its lowest point coz oil was at $30 [btw, that was for a very, very short period] is spurious correlation
