The media at times get the facts wrong. The deaths at Nyayo stadium were not caused by delay in issuing tickets or slow gate processing.

Background

Gor Mahia funs use the gate next to the side they cheer from. Its a Gor Mahia funs gate.

When the Prime Minister arrives, it's usually a few minutes before the game starts. When he arrives, funs cheer him and follow him into the stadium, thus getting a free ticket to the match.

Funs caught unawares

The last time however, the match started and funs realized the PM was not attending the match. All along, they had been idling outside the stadia for the PM to come along and give them a free ride.

Without the PM, the funs had to find other means of getting in. Thus the mobs, which are used to uprooting the rail, decided to bring down the gates (intentionally to gain access to the stadia).

The gates came down with a bang

Incidentally, a group of funs was behind the gates and when they (gates) came down, the funs were covered by it while the surging mob ran over it crushing those below.

The stadia by now should be having 24/7 cctv cameras around the facility.

Go overdrive in purchasing the goods when there's blood on the streets, expecially if the blood is your own

Peter Kenneth aliingia stadium, maybe watu wa Gor mahia wangemfuata... i really don't see your point. Then you go on saying how they are used to uprooting rails . You need to understand that some Gor fans are not from the particular community you are alluding to, case in point the lady who passed away (RIP) and many more...

Whether or not there were hooligans who intended to watch the match for free, it is the responsibility of the air-brains at FKL and Stadia board to anticipate this and setup proper control measures....

and the measures have already been designed for them by FIFA, for instance, a security cordon is a requirement around the stadium to prevent crowding at the gates.. I used to see this at the ASK show...

In this way FANs arrive at the gates in ones, twos and at most threes... are quickly processed and go in...

What you're suggesting Surealligator is the equivalent of blaming thugs for insecurity (DUH) rather than the police who are supposed to anticipate it, prevent it, deter it or at least catch those who successfully perpetrate it..
