Must be for the land! I can't see the value in Tea... not for Limuru Tea...

Why not for the tea? Is it not profitable?

Not enough tea... Small farm thus I see the land as being the primary 'value'...

But Sasini seems stuck!! Just gained 11% for me while I was hoping for 30-40% by announcement in September (ksh 17/-)

BTW @guru, "When GOD created me he was just showing off" how can we audit God's handiwork?

@ GG, be patient, they'll announce by Jamhuri Day going by last year's trend. My guess is that revenue will hit or exceed Ksh. 3b (from Ksh 2.18b in 2009)and operating profit likely to increase though cashflow will be affected by the first tranche retirement in June 2010 of the CP debt. Though this is a 'Merali' outfit, I like the fact that JB McFie is the chairman - good, clean pair of hands!

@ Guru, you need to wait a little longer for Kakuzi results - around March next year. BTW avocados are their saving grace!smile They've also started a macadamia nut plantation and are of course carrying out a pineapple JV with Del Monte.

Rea Vipingo posted a small loss for the first half ending March 2010 (and issued a profit warning), may struggle to match last year's performance. Have diversified into horticulture (baby corn)at their Dwa estate. Also have some good tracts of land in Kilifi where prices have shot through the roof!

My two meticals...

@newfarer with the weaker shilling and high tea prices coupled with rising supply this stock is greater for much greater things than you are seeing now....
