When the Stadia Management Board sold the naming rights to Coke, Coke were to upgrade the stadium to international standards and make it comply with FIFA regulations.
Sambili killed the deal and then did nothing about the state of the stadium.

I thought it was Atwoli who threatened "Mass Action", unless the stadium reverted back to the Govt?.

those to blame are squarely the ones who died and the ones who trampled them to death....don't attempt to apportion blame elsewhere no excuse...use gate number 3

How do you blame Sambili? Is she the author of Gor's Gate No. 2 superstition theories or she's the security guard?

BBI will solve it

In light of this discussion, Nyayo has 9 gates, why open 2 for each team? Considering the Gor Mahia fans were quite a number (more than the AFC fans), why open the same number of gates for each team?
That notwithstanding since nilikuwa hapo, the stampede occurred when the game had already started (no rain, stadium cleared of the stagnant waters)...so kindly, let's not blame the weather...
But i still think coca cola would have done a brilliant job in reconstruction. These gates are bomolewad many a times, why not use a stronger material?

"If you believed this crap frm the Daily Nation, then it si so disgusting those of you who have been to Nyayo the reason most fans prefer Gate 2 is because there is space to queue outside gate 2, unlike... gate 3 which is right next to the perimeter fence and has the police station and the post office on either side! I have no idea where this superstitious madness came from, but it must be part of the usual stories stereotyping Luos! Maybe you also didnt know that the game was played at night, and it had rained so heavily that nearly half of ticket holders who had either fled the stadium due to the rain, or who hadnt managed to come and enter the stadium a little early, were all outside just trying to get in! Most importantly those who filled up the Russia side of Nyayo from as early as 11am had entered through gate 3, at least I dont need to ask anybody or read it in the papers because I was there from midday!! Gate 3 was operational and was used all day!! The other reason some fans prefer gate 2 is because it is closest to the far right goal posts and gives a good view, coz its adjacent to the main stand. In the wake of this tragedy, lets try and be sensitive and not seem to be blaming the victims!! Finally, may I also add that those who died or were injured had tickets for this match and were not attempting to gain free entry! Among the dead was a lady called Winnie Karimi Kinyua, and from her name, I'd like you to tell me if it was possible that she believed this so called Luo/Gor superstitions"
