This is one battle that KQ cannot win. Doesn't make sense running full page ads for positions of glorified mbo.....

BBI will solve it

KQ may give in a little but I SUPPORT the move... Letting those ingrates screw around???

I say KQ should FIRE each and every employee who goes on strike... And if KQ re-hires them then they should at the BOTTOM of the ladder...

So... if the Chinese owned KQ... strikes would not be much of a problem...

There would be no strikes. We would be having ever smiling crew, whether underpaid or overpaid

LOL!!!. This is what kq, should do to permanetly end strikes. Vvs, ur undoubtedly the strongest kq guy around here. I have some shares but My faith in kq has withered. What makes you believe in this company so much?

I fly KQ a lot & they are very busy on the routes I fly... The PLF on some flights are 90%. Of course, I do not fly on every route... So my 'evidence' is limited...

I find 45/- to be cheap coz its assets are 45/- (or higher) BUT if it hits my target I am outta there!

Same for KK... I want 30%/year = 20/- by Oct 2013 but if it touches 20/- in 1-2 year [unless something has changed for the better] I will sell off! KK has great potential in Ethiopia which has 100mn people...

Unga is the same story... Potential returns are out-sized for those who wait!

KQ can go to 100 in 3yrs if they continue the expansion [the delayed 787s screwed up my projections. I expected a delay but not a 3-yr delay]...

@vvs. Yenyewe you are a long term investor. And i can imagine the potential rewards. I look for a 15-20 Percent return in a quarter or 2 quarters. When it doesn't work i stay like, kq. This thing has taught me patience. Happy hunting.

@VVS

Are you sure KK will get high margins in Ethiopia? Me thinks otherwise due to too much government controls. They are how we used to be in early 90s.

Ahhh... I can wait... Not at the moment. The margins are very, very low but it is inevitable the market will be liberalized OR the government will provide subsidies...

In the meantime (according to the Annual Report + AGM) Ethiopian locations are being re-designed to sell higher margin items like lubricants, etc

Yes. Already has. Offset by loans but overall beneficial to KQ.

If the strike is not settled bt 4 Nov then it is in KQ's best interest to report lousy results...

IMHO, I hope KQ sacks those who go on strike... Or those who want to stirke should quit & find new jobs... 100,000-120,000/month is nothing to sneeze at...
