…May I ask.. Why do Kenyans sing gospel (church) songs when they’re completely drunk? E.g. ’Mugithi’ which is about a train to heaven…’Kuna dawa’…’Kiriro’…..’Wi Muoyo, Jesu wi mwoyo’
....above all, to stand.

There was this dude who,in his drunken stupor, could not remember the lyrics to the song "Shetani akiniona anatetemeka" and he would go;

"Shetani akiniona ninatetemeka....Ninatetemekaa!!"
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

Maybe it was not an issue of forgetting the lyrics. He might have a point.

Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

I am always guaranteed a laugh when I read practically any post from Guka.

But seriously, wasn't this guy right? Most of us would run at the sight of Ol' Lucifer.

@Guka, thats a funny one! And maybe there was reason to tetemeka!

What surprises me also, is that they sing with such fervor....

And another guy who used to pass near a pastor called Mungania and hurl insults "Mungania wi kuru" meaning "Mungania you are a dog" but coz he was always so drunk he used to pronounce it "Mungania wikuo" which would mean "Mungania are you there"

The only thing that perplexes me with these proffessional village drunks is, the abilty to stagger for several kilometres in the dark of night upto home but still fail to
1. Open their doors
2. Climb on the bed and sleep
They fail right outside the door or, down, next to their beds....

Suffice to mention, their gospel songs rendition are almost always 'purfekt'

@pound****, the other amazing thing is how those village drunkards will want to square up in English when drunk while the elite will try to outdo each other using their mothertongue while tipsy
