Have indeed just watched the video you linked to. The video to be polite is whack but the delivery and song is surprisingly refreshing and good. Would be interesting to see what he makes of himself.

What makes him come out as confused to me is the choice of name. But that's just me.

Have read your article but it does not really explain why or how the Kaka Sungura Tales inspired the name. Furthermore why doesn't he call himself Sungura then?

There is that fellow who sang the "nda" song on Churchill Live a couple of weeks ago. It went something like

....Manzi wangu Li-nda...
...nikipiga meza ra-nda...
..usitulay assa-nda...
...Siku hizi naishi Ru-nda...
...neighbour wangu Maina Kama-nda...

[The lines were not in that order - those are some of the bits I remember]

Anywho, that's some mad talent right there. Anyone with a link to this video? I'd surely love to watch it again.
