Rights price has been set at 165 per share. 1 for every 18 held.

That is an enticing entry point for Stanchart. I would have to compare with KCB at 18 and evaluate which will give me better returns for my money in say 3-6 months

Dont know what the fuss is all about....eps still grew by Kshs2.11 YoY

N besides, growing 4.1B by 800m is no easy feat...its easier for DTB and th likes to grow bigger %s coz of the small numbers involved..
Having said that, Hats off to Equity

Standard Chartered is wasting money by putting money in a team like Liverpool. They will not get any return by backing a team of the past. In Wenger We Trustsmile

Who does marketing for SCB? Why would you sponsor one of TWENTY teams when the whole league is sponsored by a direct rival?

@cnn - I have not studied SCBK results closely but what is the gain from Bond Trading? Coz that 'profit' is going to stagnate or reverse...

If you are looking for dividends this is a good counter to be in. I was intrigued by Stockmaster's post (on re-entering the counter at Kshs 270)on the possibility of a bonus but in terms of growth, I think we can all agree that last year was an anomaly.

The bank is way too conservative with possibly the lowest loan to deposits ratio in the market. With bond yields having plummeted, I bet that profit growth will be constrained. Luckily SCBK is pretty good at keeping a lid on costs.

You are very wrong on the liverpool thing. So uninformed. Let us talk as knowledgeable investors and not futball hooligans.

If we go mathematical, i can prove that this club is stabler than the other clubs you think in Epl. Your statement is based on the current poor form and ownership debacle, this deals are usually 5 year (for anfield) and by the time stanchart was getting in we were giving manutd a run for their cash (late 2008)
