Last year, Financial Post asked Nelson Muguku how much he was really worth...
His Reply: “I am worth nothing. I am only a small farmer earning a living from poultry. But what I can tell you is that this type of business takes talent.”

What Muguku owns in shares at EB looks like a small portion of his total worth.I understand the poultry business alone is worth more than 3B.Asked about his 40 plus top grade dairy cows,the man said they do give him a little milk but he uses them more like lawn mowers to keep his 22 acre piece neat and well trimmed for his chickens...lol Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

Africans should stop thinking on the basis of tribe but rather on the basis of trust.... If one hires those he trusts and they all happen to be from the same region then there's nothing wrong with this.... That said we must all be honest that central kenyans do own a huge chunk of kenya and this should gradually change.... Mark 12:29

How did we jump from 'EB should diversify its management' to 'people are envying EB'?
If EB wants a diversity of Kenyans as customers and shareholders, is it so wrong to expect a diversity in management?

Disclaimer - My origin is Central Kenya. I've never lived there.Simply put, I am a Kenyan, period. Obiero made an observation. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. What is sad is to see the tirade of tribalistic comments that ensued. If you deemed his statement to be lethal, why fuel it further. If one has nothing better to say, they should keep quiet. Is is a sad fact that it is the elite that start fires, but the poor and helpless are the ones that suffer the consequences. Tired of mediocrity. Am going to the very top!

Equity Bank is a tribal bank- for Obiero et alFACT-Up until 2001, only Central deposites or borrowed from Equity FACT-up until 2006, Equity had done 3/4 private placements and only Kiuks queued up to put their money in it FACT-NIC (Kiuks), DTB (Wahindi), ARM (Wahindi), Jubilee (Wahindi); KK (Kiuks) are all dominated by one tribe but nobody ever goes on about them. FACT-they are 43 banks in Kenya. All open for business. They are 52 listed shares on the NSE. All looking for buyers. The Governor of Nyeri - 2017

Why do we feel so strongly that EB must 'share' with my tribe? Is it because it is a fellow African? Are most African minds cursed to eternal retardation? There has not been a single comment here that provides a solution we can interrogate other than some vague proposals.
