Hit my average purchase price of 22.83 - Most of my lot was from the previous rights issue at 25. However, I have no plans to liquidate as I think there is still a lot of gas in the tank.

I decided to bail out but only managed to sell about 25% of my portfolio thus far at Kshs 23. Price has since dropped a bit. I will progressively sell more if the price continues going up.

I bought some Co-op at 18.10 today. I hope I will not live to regret the switch.

Resistance is expected after the gradual rise from 18. After a while, it will break the 23 barrier and ease to 25. This will be smoother if 3Q results are nice

Q3 for KCB ends on 30th sep. Any idea as to when they might release the results? even historically.

You mean...gradual rise from 18-19. coz from 19 i wouldnt say it was gradual. I expect tradind to start at 23 tommorrow as has been the trend this week, if scangroup can continue doing it, why cant KCB.

For somewhat inexplicable reasons, KCB remains undervalued by the market. But now, at last, we have started to see small upward movements. I do not think the stock is likely to dip below 20 again, unless there is another rights issue, which is clearly not on the cards. KCB is more likely to settle at 26-27, but could well hit the 30 mark by year end. The bank's fundamentals are very correct and a sensible investment strategy is in place. I think if anyone is willing to risk and wait 2-3 years, the capital returns will have more than doubled.

Having sold a nice portion yesterday and today (only managed 22.75 today), I am indeed hoping (that word again) that the downward movement continues. My effective commission both ways is less than 3%, but it still has to go below 22.25 for me to be able to get back in.

I believe in the long term fundamentals of KCB but some trading does me no harm from time to time.

Is it a co-incidence KCB and scan stopped rallying together after rallying at the same time?

The downward pressure will not last long so you have to be carefull. Like any stocks whenever there is continous upward movement for a while, some resistance is met at some levels. For KCB, if the price goes below 22, the demand will be so huge that the price has to go upwards.

Was Friday's drop a sign of things to come this week? Or was it just a minor blip and The Lion will continue roaming the savannah?

The resistance of 23 will not last long. The lion should roar up to around 25. That will be basically the correction. If Q3 results are good it should move towards the 28 range.
