We filled in the form and were hounded with phone calls like hell. Never again. In life it is best to limit your exposure to conmen and women.

And the people you see 'falling for it' (signing cheques)in the room could be planted moles

Got a call from these people sometimes this week.
Those that have previously won.. is it a deal worth or a mare waste of time?
Told i won and they need me and madam to go and sign a voucher.

"won" a voucher for nyali holiday resort couple of years back, quite enjoyable it was - but room only, u pay for food and transport.

but before all that u have to sit through 2hrs of gruelling marketing pitch and being almost coaxed into buying a holiday slot....was worth the while, if u can manage to wad off the offers.

juzi went for another after i had "won", only this time they wanted us to deposit $100 refundable after we come back from SA or Malindi....

thought that was a bit weird, if i have "won" dont need to pay anything, started to think they were behaving like those fake "u have won with safaricom bambua na nani" promotions...

slithered out slowly with my mpango...

Guess will give it a trial....will strategically sit near the exit during their presentations...in case i realise some mad games...will fly away like bolt.

...Got that invitation, sat through the presentation for two hours...at the end they wanted me and my wife to make a decision there and then to commit ourselves. I found that odd...something you did not know, never heard and here you are being asked to write a cheque there and then...And I saw some people buying into the idea...Damn...unless i have sold poor man's maize and have nowhere to take the money...

@Magigi, I feel you. Similar experience with the same Hemmingways ... whatever, they pestered me for over a year they called me for a "free lunch" which I attended and never sat through as it was not lunch per se but a boring presentation of a fantastic "holiday" which you had to pay for and the presentation had to be by one person who felt very super.

Essentially, you buy a time slot in a holiday resort and that slot becomes yours for life,or for a fixed duration,say,20 years. You could buy, say, the first week of January and that becomes yours to use,to let,to sell,to...all manner of things that you would do with your property.

In principle, they divide the value of one unit in the resort into 52 segments representing the weeks in a year and then sell them off to different individuals...

That's the basic idea; but your friend will get the full details at the presentation....and it's not cheap to buy, especially if he is not a regular holiday goer

I think this is the fractional ownership advertised on radio or the cousin (related concept)
