@maji, I thought the road is supposed to go through the barrier not through Utawala. I found going through Utawala more of a panya route than a roadSad

The tarmac starts near kq's pride centre at the army gate. Forget abt the other panya route though generally the area after the army land behind AP Training sch is also known as utawala.

For those in the know, Can someone use that bypass to go from Mombasa Road - Safari Park, without having to go all the way to Ruiru?

Suggested routes? Am planning to take a test drive to see the condition or panya routes, but there is probably someone who has done this. Saidia.

The alternative of Msa Road - Outering - Allsops - Thika Road is the shortest (distance wise) but the longest, time wise, especially about 5pm.

Applause now its the time to invest along the by-pass......1/8 plots on offer, 200metres from bypass, 3Km from thika super highway....with clean freehold title deed.....

@ Mkiwa
another possibility is use bypass upto Ruai from Utawala join kangundo road, branch off at njiru through mwiki kasarani then safaripark

@whynow, yes. Its tarmac all the way just after pride cnt. The tarmac starts at the army barracks gate all the way to kangundo and thika rd. But diversions will be at bridges and kangundo rd fly-over.

I hope these bypasses will not be like the new kagio-karatina-nyeri road. Its chipping off even before its even marked.

have you guys noticed that the construction of the overpass at mombasa road halted?

and that the overpass itself is so low that trucks with high cargo often scratch the overpass ( or the overpass scratches the trucks), infact at one time i saw some brand new cars from mombasa loaded on two stacks on a trailer that were unable to pass.

According to the initial plan, those two buildings (ramtons and the one next) shouldn't be there .
The ramtons building is still in use, although the other one is disused

I think I heard something like some of the owners of the buildings that were to be demolished went to court and that's why the project was halted...

Wrong, that overpass is the junction between the eastern bypass and mombasa road

The southern bypass touches mombasa road at ole sereni/likoni road

The overpass is fabricated from steel bars fastened together which I think sould be easy to remove and raise the height, unless the concrete jungle on most overpasses on Thika road.
