Lonhro Motors. Bad decision, didn't know their business well when I bought, was absolutely shocked when they went under - never had an idea of what kind of s**t they were in until they closed doors. Ditto Kenya Finance Bank.

Am sure there are those who have more to say but r just keeping to themselves...just to mention few are those that bought in to CABLES, Centum before the split n CFC Stanbic before the merger. I accept I burned my fingers (sic hands) on this...may be its coz am using blood money. LOL!! @ simonkabz nilijaza weight nawadays!

Pole boss. Just cut the losses. You can recover this on another counter(s).

I'm still stuck with Uchumi because I refused to cut my losses Sad Just like taking profits, you must also have a stop loss limit. Otherwise the market fries you up.

Anyone else who's stuck with the likes of uchumi, paka, hutchings, marshalls etc...

@hisah my stop loss is always 10% especially if the fall is caused by information....

I'm surprised there's nobody confessing about being stuck in suspended shares. Am I that old?

@hisah - I have 250 Uchumi shares... LOL... I was lucky to have sold the rest!

Anyway, I bought the Rights at 10/- but had some bills/loans to pay! So I sold at 11.25 & saw the price jump to 12/- then 13/- then 15/- upto 20/-!!! In hindsight... I am happy I got out at 11.25

5000 rights is what I'm stuck with. Grrr... But if it is relisted, despite the future looking rosy, I'll just selloff to clear my trading guilt smile

Great discussion. If you could tell the future from a Balance Sheet then accountants and mathematicians would be the richest people in the world. I could be buying & selling stocks recommended here. www.coolpennystocks.com

@subaru what we need to learn is how to sell when the need be... you might have to wait for Kenya re's full year results to sell because they will greatly improve because last year H2 they had a 430million in surprise claims....

Haya basi hata mimi nina Uchumi.
Bought 10K units at 16.50 it closed doors at 14.50 a month later. Looking at the growth in profits I think the counter looks good. I believe guys will sell off on relisting but I would increase my holding - cash allowing.
Assumption: The growth momentum will either be maintained or improve with the economy.

BTW is Uchumi relisting soon? I'll wait and see before any moves are made. I'm glad I missed it before it closed doors lakini I'm interested.
