Try the usual suspects. AAR and Resolution. Heard that APA have a cover that can make your old folks if you have any your dependents too so you could try them too.

And stay away from Alexander Forbes unless Sonko is your MP.

Alexander Forbes are damn expensive. Got a quotation from them and it was almost double what AAR and Resolution were quoting and for even lesser limit. Decided to stick with AAR though have had issues with them before.

So unless money is not a concern or Sonko can subsidize your health insurance premiums then it is a no no.

Go with Resolution. With AAR you're limite to their clinics for Out patient services. And once you are 55 or develop a chronic illness, they kick you out. Resolution's is a life long cover. The idea is to join before you're 50.

How old is resolution, by the way?

I joined AAR in 2000.

Left in 2002 and went to Medi-Plus; because they had a better plan for families - covered babies from birth to 3 months free of charge as long mum was member at birth - and lower premiums. The range of covers was also wider and more flexible compared to AAR's Gold, Silver, Bronze...

...nine months down the road, Medi-Plus closed down under the weight of unpaid hospital bills! I went running back to AAR even though the premiums were slightly higher...and had to be kept on the 3-month waiting period again!

I learned my lesson.

I haven't had problems as far as bill settlements are concerned....but once they delayed issuing discharge clearance for 45 minutes. It was x-mas season and their officers were avoiding calls from hospitals!!
