The discount to NAV is too good to resist!

IMHO, I am OK with holding the shares longer as well. Kenyans are becoming urbanised & Unga's brands remain popular in Kenya's cities among the socioeconomic middle-class & upper-class.

Always better to buy them cheaper, no?

Current price is 12.50 but it is 'fake' in that only 200 shares traded. There is a single seller/ask at 14/-...

A very strange one indeed. Profit hardly get to 1% of turnover yet the business runs itself without loans

mmm, is it repatriated somewhere? maybe some firms just find it hard to justify delisting.

Today it was not that bad for Sembe. Closed as 13.95.
Time is money, so money is time. Money saved is time gained in reverse! Money stores your life’s energy. You expend your energy, get paid money, and store that money for a future purchase made in a currency.

The food business has low margins to begin with then high fixed costs... thus the need to push volumes!

Results in DN (page 32). EPS up to 1.82kshs, from 1.55kshs. 29% increase in PAT, largely due to unrealized foreign exchange losses. Dividend of 0.5kshs

Unga will release results on Sept 30th. I still anticipate a good EPS in the range of Kshs 2.50 and I hope for a dividend of Kshs 0.50. This is just my deduction so do NOT take this to the Bank.

Since most players here apparently feel that this would not be good enough, I look forward to buying it when these results "dissapoint" - Kshs 11.00 to 12.00 would be my bet on the price based on the sentiments expressed here. Get ready to sell.

So results are out today as expected. I must say the EPS has come in significantly lower than I had anticipated, but I correctly predicted the level of dividend.

Unga is now officially a dividend paying stock so I would expect a bit of rerating in investor perceptions on the counter. But with expectations of an even higher dividend and/or bonus, I am sure that there will be any price spike. At least not for now.

I am still a buyer, so if it comes down to my price, I will add. I am a long termer on this one. Unga has taken one small step, I expect bigger ones in future!
