Kaffir, the banks will accomplish that feat before EABL does, and you can take that to the...er bank? But Safaricom will not relinquish that crown soon

And now, Zain has dropped international call rates to USA, India, Canada, and China to 3shs / minute.. Permanent, of course!
For now, i will watch Safcom from the sidelines. It should remain profitable, but my money is on EABL to regain the crown of 'most profitable company'!

It is a REAL 3/- call... Tried and it worked! Now I need to find friends in Canada, India and China...

There is no panic in safcom right now and even their 1st half results will be relatively good but dont dare waiting beyond that.the impact of the call price cuts will leave the share at 2bob.

@mlennyma so why wait until the the half year results....

Even on the technical side there is no more support for the share below 4.5 until 3.8

UK has a tiered system like Kenya whereas the USA/India/China/Canada system is different.

UK/Kenya allows individual operators to charge different rates for on/off-network. Accessing/calling Mobile phones in UK is very expensive. Calling UK landline from Skype is 2c but 20c to a mobile line.

USA/India/China/Canada: There are no or very low 'interconnection' fees between operators. Thus there is no distinction between calling landlines or cellphones. Well, I am sure about USA/Canada not sure about India/China but I think it is similar.

I am HAPPY I sold off all my safaricom earlier in the year... The 2H will be very, very tough for them...

Safaricom will complain about irrational pricing by Zain-Airtel but it still means loss of ARPU...

Zain has PERMANENT cheaper calls, sms, money transfer & now international calls... So why are you still with safaricom?

@youcan't i'm in complete agreement... The only reason i hold a safcom sim is because of the 3G...

Once Zain gets it its bye bye safcon..

the volatility makes it a perfect traders' stock. The stock is oversold and the volumes are light. time to get in and wait for a catalyst, like the end of masaa promo to reverse the trend

@Sparkly masaa ya kubamba ends THEN WHAT?!

This won't be a catalyst but rather a further loss of customers to Zain and yu...

Safcom is in a very huge lose-lose situation when it comes to voice...

So be careful... I'm looking to buy at 3.5

now at 4.85 from 4.30, looks like the masonko promotion is winning the hearts and minds of customers and investors. Traders making money when others are nyefing safaricom kwisha
