I've always wondered what that expression means.d'oh!

Most people misquote it as "have your cake and eat it" which doesn't make much sense.

The correct phrase is "you can't eat your cake and have"... obviously; because you have eaten it!

But that's exactly what I plan to do with this ugali: eat it and still have it in my hands!
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

@guru267 and govmusili. If you are anticipating a bonus to maintain or push the current price, then I would advice you to sell while there are still takers.

Please note that Unga issued a bonus in 2008, so the chances of another (while I can't rule it out) are not high. I however expect that there will be a dividend after the noise we made at last year's AGM. I do not expect it to be much - probably in the range of Kshs 0.50 per share. Those Directors are extremely stingy!

Unga is a speculative share that is however shunned by most speculators because of its illiquidity. One buyer or seller is able to easily influence how it trades. I only hold the counter with the hope that one day it shall demonstrate its real value - close to its NAV of Kshs 28.62 of which Kshs 4.77 was cash or near cash attributable to shareholders as at 30.06.09. In the SHORT RUN I would not be surprised to see its price tank once the high expectations are NOT met.

The fall of Unga gives me a chilling reminder of Mumias' fall a week before announcement. We all know what happened when the results were out.

Did I speak too soon? But there's still a healthy supply below that price

I think it would actually be nice if the counter were to fall prior to the announcement. That way there will be no more room for for it to fall further at that point. Results should be OK incidentally but expectations being what they are let the stock fall if it must!

My dear Ugali eaters, keep your insulin ready.
Time is money, so money is time. Money saved is time gained in reverse! Money stores your life’s energy. You expend your energy, get paid money, and store that money for a future purchase made in a currency.
