@ajh .... My thoughts excatly. Nobody want to do a speed test to show us the speeds after excausting the bundles. Guess its nothing to write home about as expectd .

You guys have forgotten the last time Safaricom had a 'free' data offering? Speeds went down to bytes per second! Don't hold your breath on this one

@Much Know and others who responded to my request for info - Many thanks for your insights. I have now purchased a 300MB bundle with the 32 Kbps out of bundle speed. I intend to use for relatively light browsing tasks - Nelly Data et al. Orange bundles will remain my fallback for heavy duty use.

Tried www.speedtest.net and www.testmyspeed.com, i get no result. Me thinks the speeds are so slow till the test gets timed-out or the test servers "clicks ignore" as such speeds are below its threshold.

Nirikwaabia nini? It is probably in bytes per second; speeds that modern testers have long forgotten! Hata Googo Search inachukua muda! It is time people realised that Safaricom is a profit before everything company, and no 3bob 1bob is ever going to change that

This offer is clearly not for anyone who requires a hassle free internet experience. Once the 300 MB (700 MB or 1 GB) on the bundle is used up, you get ultra low speeds. The other day I was downloading a 500KB document and the transfer speed averaged less than 1 kbps throughout the session. It took more than 5 mins. So, I am using it for free - at a max of 32 kbps (BIG DEAL!). It is pure torture.

Luckily, I have my Orange Modem with more than 4GB as we speak. I can tell you, I will NOT be renewing the 999 offer.
