I have just registered to be connected to the Safaricom home broadband service and for some reason the 3,999/- did not seem like a lot especially since I have resisted the temptation to put up a satellite dish (not even GTV).

The reason it that my phone bill for the coming month will drop from the current 8,000/- to 3,000/- so long as I do not sing to the chickens. This means that I will be having an additional 5,000/- shillings.

Safaricom is not buried yet and as other keeping chasing the voice revenue safaricom is seriously rolling out products to collect back the revenue its subscribers are saving from reduced calling rates.

Regards

Thts exactly what i mean.. the bundle was coming with a free PSP. note this is not the same offer as the unlimited internet where you prescribe to bundles.. this is the one for home users

@Robertyawe. Could you kindly update us on the connection speed once you have been able to use the service?

Did you have to sign a contract for the service? I presume it is a post paid service with a deposit and minimum period of 12 months, not so?

Seeing as it is that your location is Uganda, I will excuse the fact that you appear to be behind the news, newfarer!

Safcom extended the promotion until 21st Novemeber 2010. This was announced on 210910. We are still waiting to see what Zain has to say to this. They had promised to counter each of Safcom's moves!!
