We have bogus in our CL group and United are expected to proceed without much ado, CL only starts in March, all final results before march can always be predicted!!!! The depth in the united squad is just amazing considering that the gaffer made 10 changes to the squad that played at Goodison park, I am not least worried (Patrice Evra, Nemanja Vidic, Nani and Paul Scholes were not even on the bench!!!)

The loss of Valencia (probably for the season) is a major setback!!!

....is the a season when Van Perise will ever play even three quarters of the arses games????

I am very worried, but SAF knows what is best for United, I am very sure he watches other team matches and he knows what is ailing the team. What is needed is an urgent remedy but at the rate at which we are going....zzzzzzz

The Rangers games should have been worn by a team that has quality...United has depth but for quality...I beg to differ...to me only 2 players have quality in that United team that can tear defenses apart... i.e Nani & Berbatov for the rest.....zzzzz...

I was switching stations to catch glimpses of the barca & pana game...and you will all agree what tearing a defense is even if you pack 10 men on it...

Over to you Sir Alex...FOREVER UNITED.

Valencia is definitely out for the rest of the season. At his age i would be suprised if he manages to get back in form after the injury, most players who have gone through the same haven't....Eduardo, Smith etc.

What the current Man Utd squad lacks is creativity....Nani and Berbatov are both inconsistent, Giggs and Scholes can't play for full 90 minutes, Fletcher is just Fletcher. At the moment the squad lacks depth and is full of average players who need to be sold....Gibson, Brown, O'shea, Fabio, Park & Berbatov (yes Berbatov)

As for Van Persie's injury, its only short term. He should be back in 2 weeks....but then again who needs him when you have Chamahk fully fit and Carlos Vela waiting on the bench? My only concern with Arsenal this season is Almunia....

I'll agree with you Taz...it's hard to regain previous form after horrific injuries, I guess it's the psychological aspect of it. I also agree with Mr. Bean that players need to be protected bana - I know the Valencia injury was an accident but when you see the challenge on Diaby the other day, am surprised he'll only be out for 2 games!

I was looking at an email the other day on bad football injuries and 3/4 of them were in the EPL! As much as we love the excitement of the pace, crunching tackles don't have to crunch bones literally!

I'll disagree with you Taz on Berbatov...whether opposing fans care to admit it or not, the guy has absolute talent, much in the same way as Ibra - only that with such players, the talent only manifests when there's committment. Berba has got the committment this season - not like Rooney's last season, but enough to make it count when it matters.

I've not counted Man Utd out, it's still too early in any stage of football, lakini in CL, you've got to be at your best to beat teams like Barca.

In other news, http://www.goal.com/en-u...ael-benitezs-new-javier

The guy almost scored the 3rd goal for Inter jana...had an unnecessary bust up with one of the Twente players towards the end (if the ref had spotted it he could have given a red card) but at this rate (three 90 minute games for Inter), his star shines brightly.

he he, kutangulia bar kama kawaida na hawalewi...maybe it'll be different this time...but your display yesterday was mercurial, esp Cesc, have to give you that. Question is will it sustain the course?

By the way Arsenal fans, what would give you the most pleasure?

1. Status quo remaining i.e 1,2,3 finish for Chelsea, Man and Arse
2. Man Utd winning premiership and Arse winning CL for the first time ever - this is an obvious choice but I'll put it out there anyway
3. Arse winning NO trophy and Man Utd winning NO trophy but Arse finishing above Man Utd in EPL.
4. Man Utd winning CL and Arse winning EPL.
5. Arse winning Carling and Man Utd winning no trophy
6. None of the above - please don't give your option because I know it would probably be Arse winning a quadruple and Man Utd being relegated.

Personally, I would be very happy if we win a CL again before SAF retires but I'd settle for a 19th EPL trophy to finally lift us over LFC. I wouldn't care who else won what...

As things stand it looks bleak for Man-u. And perhaps the effects of not investing in a deep squad will get in the way of trophies. With valencia out, lets hope that nani can stay injury free or else supply lines will be totally kaput.

Arsenal are in cruise control. But will it last? I think teams have given them to much space so far. Even allardyce has been complaining that wenger is using the media to bully referees to ensure that arsenal players are not tackled. I still think that arsenal are too light weight to last the course.

Liverpool visit Man-u on sunday. Will be an interesting game as both managers rested players in mid week with an eye for this game. Man-u can not afford to lose.

An arsenal win against sunderland will put them on top of the table for a day...And if this is the case, man-u will be going into their game with liverpool knowing that arsenal are topping the table. Man-u will not lose points on sunday!

Winston.....Arsenal's weak point last season was in defense but this season its no longer a problem. Wenger can be able to rest Vermaelen without any worry. I think Squillaci's purchase was more than a bargain. At the front the gunners are fully covered even with Walcott and Van Persie out....i wish Wenger would play Carlos Vela more often that Kid is top class. The midfield is our strongest point.

I don't think there's much to talk about on Chelsea's performance so far. No one really expected them to lose against the likes of Wigan, West Ham, West Brom, Stoke & Blackpool. Their Season will start next weekend when they play Man City (away), then Arsenal (Home), Villa (away). This could very easily be 9 points dropped.

Liverpool looked quite strong yesterday but i'm not sure if that will be enough to beat Man Utd at Old Trafford. Both teams are yet to regain their form so i think it will be a draw.
