Considering all variations of the two genres, the past and present, which do you favour?
What are the best tracks you love? Who are the best artists?

Which is the best Genre?

I feel none of the above...am so into Rock Music...you can check out tracks like I bleed it out and new divide by linking park, Colide by Howie day, The scientist by cold play and Human by Killers...before sampling everything by Breaking benjamin and simple plan and ul discover that Hip hop and reggae fade in comparison with ROCK!

Though Rock is good it will never touch Hip Hop!
Though I do like Avril Lavigne, Sum 41, Paramore, Fireflight, 3 Doors Down, Three Days' Grace, Nickleback, etc

I mean no disrespect, but your topic is offensive. Reggae stands on its own. It does not seek to compete with anything, nor does it fit competition with anything. It is not to be compared with anything else. If you understood Reggae, you would understand what I am trying to say. I think you are trying to talk about your love for Hip Hop, which is fine. Why drag Reggae into it?

Reggae is not just music. It is a spiritual vibe. There are times I listen to other forms of music, and I am certainly in another place when I am listening to Reggae. If you want to know what I am talking about, think of the works of Joseph Hill (Culture), Marley, Lucky Dube, Peter Tosh, Buny Wailer, Burning Spear, Steal Pulse, Ijahman Levi, Alpha Blondy, Don Carlos, among others.

The other day I met someone I knew in school back in the 1990s, and he was surprised to hear Burninig Spear coming through my speakers ... he asks, man, you still listen to this stuff? I was stunned. I cannot imagine ever stoping listening "to this stuff". What would I listen to then?

I never have a favourite genre, just favourite songs
you cannot compare roots and culture to the monkey business peddled now days as raggae
this souljaboy lil wayne blah bla bla nonesense is nothing compared to RunDMC, public Enemy, 2pac

if id pick among the two..i think i have more favourite Reggae songs as compared to HipHop

music is poetry if you are no poet you are just a performer, kwisha!
