if you can connect, their speeds have improved greatly over the same one week or is it because many guys have disconnected? Yesterday I managed to download a movie torrent 1.36GB in a record 2hrs. Normally I do this at an average of 4 to 6 hrs. Kwa data, Kwangu ni Chungwa tamu!!Applause Applause Applause Applause

You are lucky.

Mine has actually gotten worse!

When I set to "Hybrid" I get 10kBps at best

When I set it back to the old EVDO ONLY, I get the old speeds of around 50 - 100 kBps

@jaggernaut. there's no problem w/ the modem.I am actually downloading some torrents right now and the speeds are gud.Check your settings make sure its EV-DO and NOT Hybrid.
If you cannot connect with the cheap Orange internet where are you gettin your internet????..Coz practicallly all other options are too expensive or impractical (Safcom)
I insist you check on your settings.

Did anyone lose their data bundle last week? I lost 1,960MB and I'm not getting any help on how to recover it....

And the damn thing is not sending SMSs to re-load airtime or purchase bundles.

If they ask me, the so-called "upgrade" was actually a "downgrade"; after all, the speeds did not improve (I'm still getting the same 50-100kBps that I was getting before) and now I can't access the IE3G+ portal if I don't have data balance.... I have to go to a cyber cafe to re-load!!!

@qw: i had set it as EVDO. I have decided to give the modem one last try and am getting the same old story:
Error 691: access denied coz username and password invalid on the domain.
Error 678: remote computer did not respond

No more rotten oranges for me. I have now gone back to using my Safaricom 3G modem (permanently). And the speeds look good.

I got back mine yesterday after 2wks of pure pain. I was told they installed the upgrade in the modem. username for all:orangefixedplus and password :orange
You can then open their website www.orange-tkl.co.ke for the other services like buying bundles. This is where you will use the new username (actually a telephone number allocated to you and the old password)
I hope this works
I care!
