I was Reading an Analysis where it shows the Net Asset Value (NAV) of a share of KP&L co @ Kshs 318.19
Could someone shade some light on how this value is calculated and if this value ascertains the market price of the share.
For e.g NAV for TOTAL is kshs 51.22(market price 31.25) and Kengen NAV is 28.67 (market price 17.50) -NET ASSET VALUE HIGHER than the market price.. would that mean those shares are underpriced & thus a good Investment???

@ passive Investor I got it from the weekly Analysis by Kesterel Capital for 3rd Sept 2010.
An analysis for the Top 32 counters by Market Capitalisation.
