@MaichBlack, I wish I could speculate the consequences of chang'aa. But from what we read in the media, you can guess. I must say it is quite difficult to accurately predict health effects. Simple reason is that chang'aa is not a well anylysed drink (Nobody knows the exact chemicals it contains and by how much). Therefore it might contain some acutely harmful chemicals especially higher alcohols which are lethal.
Before Chang'aa becomes full fledged official drink, it should be:
-Subjected to through analysis.
-Ingridients should be regulated and controlled (no adding of methylated spirit and silver coins).
-The manufacture process should be standardised (Not every brewer to do it in his quark way)
On 'pot belly', I guess, being a high alcohol drink, it has high calories hence induce the obvious protruded belly.
