While GOK is busy trying to increase its stake in KPLC, the Nigerian Government is to sell off the state power monopoly www.bbc.co.uk/news/mobile/world-africa-11098224

@the deal must be reading some Namibian newspaper... 1:1 would mean my Ordinary Shares are WORTHLESS... and I would have to get my buddies together to sue them!

Better call your buddies then. www.standardmedia.co.ke/...0015815&cid=457&

KPLC has slightly over 7000 shareholders and not 20000 as this article purports. so even the 1:1 conversion is a hoax.
the writer of the article is ignorant and didnt verify his information. this at its best is rumours!

Pac, the eastafrican has the same story. www.theeastafrican.co.ke...4/-/5dppw8z/-/index.html If both are lying, the Arturs should be called back and raze both of them to the ground

they are not lying.they are ignorant.if the prefs were converted 1:1 then i think the gov. would have over 99 per cent shareholding before rights and not 75 per cent. do some quick maths.

at this point i think 1:1 conversion simply means the government will get 1 share for every existing ordinary share.
in this case then the government gets around 87 million more shares effectively redeeming 87 percent of their prefs.

There are 79M total issued shares. 1:1 conversion ratio would mean the government gets an additional 79M shares. At the moment it has 40%, i.e. 31.6M shares (79*.4)

So after the conversion, the government's stake will be (79+31.6)/(79+79), which is about 70%.

True, that is why the government will not take up its rights

@tupac the conversion ratio is 1:1. This simply means the new ordinary shares are equal to existing ones in every right....

What will determine the level of dilution is the price they choose to convert it at..
