And who the hell invited Bashir? This is very unfortunate! Whose idea was it? Will the government arrest the suspects of the post election violence on behalf of the ICC if they don't arrest Bashir? They have dented a very important National occassion. And the planning was terrible given the importance of the occassion!!!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

It is not in Kenya's interest to be in bad books with its immediate neighbours. Kenya should do everything to make sure Bashir is safe and welcome in this country whatever the ills he has committed in his country. Sisi sio polisi wa ICC. He is here as the head of state of a neighbouring country and not for his human rights track record.

Wrong!!! We have certain OBLIGATIONS too the ICC being signatories. You had better familiarize yourself with them and then we can talk some more.

Sudan IS MORE important to Kenya than ICC. Bashir is more than welcome to Kenya and should not be arrested on behave of ICC. With the re-birth of the country, it would be important to change the mindset of the relations with our neighbors.

@Kusaidika, @mcreggae, and @jaina you all are spot on.
Yes we are ICC signatories but we should not follow hem blindly. I doubt moreno consulted Kenya when they indicted him. Yes there are crimes committed and he should be brought to book.
But the indictment put at risk a peace process that Kenya who have invested alot of time and resources. Arresting Bashir now is killing he whole peace process and killing south Sudanese hope for peace. Not inviting Bashir would also be wrong because we invited kiir, we are going to be major partners in south sudan, and that would only send a bad message to bashir and others.
That said peace with sudan and peace between the soon to be sudan states is our priority and not pleasing Ocampo.
The Kenyan press love showing their ignorance and regurgitating what the western press keep saying. Arresting Bashir on on the principle of universal jurisdiction is not easy. Look at the Pinochet case in UK and ow long it took to deport him to Chile.
Arresting Bashir is not in the interest of Kenya, or south sudan. We have to find a way to help the people of dafur and not at the expense of south sudan future peace.

I beg to differ. This guy should never have been invited in the first place. You cant compare Bashir with Kiir. One is a subject of ICC the other is as clean as snow.
And comparing George Bush with Bashir is really missing the point. The only similarity between these two is that their surnames starts with letter "B".

arresting bashir is neither here nor there,what should be in question is the legitimacy of icc and why the world police(U.S) seeks to enforce statutes that they are not signatories to. The hague option seem to apply only to eastern europe and third world countries.

Ati Obama is disappointed that kenya didnt arrest Bashir. These people think we are kids???. US is not a signatory to the ICC. Halafu obama says that he's disappointed. Why cant dont they become signatories first and then talk later.

Arresting El Bashir would have messed up relations with Sudan.To the best of my knowledge,no sitting head of state has been arrested by another state to face criminal proceedings.The western powers have no right to lecture anyone on which friends to keep.Were they not the closest of friends to the likes of Mobutu?Wasnt the US a major beneficiary and a supporter of instability in countries like Zaire and Angola?
