I now understand why Teresia Wairimu was denying these children access to their father. She now bears the tag "3rd wife" which gives the impression that she is the other woman, a mistress out to fleece a family out of its wealth. If you follow this drama at face value this is the impression you get. Look a little closer and it gets more complicated. Teresia Wairimu has been married to Kirima for 43 years. From her demeanor she is quiet and cool almost cold in contrast with the feisty, makelele, boisterous Kirima children. Remember Kirima was a successfull businessman and politician.

A politicians life is very public and chaotic that would need a quiet stabilising influence to succeed. The phrase, behind every successful man is a woman is quite true and Teresia in my opinion fits the cool quiet strength that could very well have been part of the the success of Kirima. She is quite disciplined and I remember in one of the videos when the children went to cleanse the house she was insisting on prior arrangements being made. So knowing the man she had been married to for 43 years is getting old and losing his mind and with his vulture children hovering about ready to decimate the wealth they had built together would you blame her for keeping them away?

@Kusadikika,I hope you are not a bro, cousin or a relative of Teresia.Na hata hivyo, umempigia debe kama you have an eagle eye set on her.Kirima hamtaki,Skerias can make a delegation twende tukusaidie upate bibi hata kama wa pili.Just an opinion

Hata!! Si hivyo ndugu yangu @Vin. Sina uhusiano wowote na Bibi huyu. Si wa damu wala wa kimapenzi na sina nia yoyote ila kujaribu kuangalia swala hili kutoka upande mwingine.

She does not look like the type to shout from the rooftops like the Kirima children. I wonder how many people have dealt with old people as they drift into senility. It is not an often talked about issue but it can be very traumatic for close family members.

Someone you once knew and respected starts to lose their mind and they drift in and out of moments of lucid clear thinking that you have come to know and moments of total idiocy or childlike behaviour that totally throws you off. You get confused as you try to adjust yourself to treating them alternately as adults and as children. It is not a disease that can be cured like the Kirima children would want us to believe. There is no medical treatment. Wazungus, being who they are will of course give fancy names to these conditions like dementia, Alzheimers etc and there are billions worth of medications and specialists who claim to treat them. Simple people just know it as kuzeeka and there is no better care than an understanding, loving family to take care of someone during these days. If I was in such a condition I would rather have my wife of 43 years with me than my own grown up children who I raised, who moved away and now have their own families to look after.

Scenes behind the video... What you saw was kirima denouncing his wife. Behind the scenes it was said that GK had draw a new will which was commissioned at british high commission. He said that he was revoking his first will - his exact words. He also said that he was married under kikuyu custom, but his wife was adultrous and was seeking divorce under kikuyu custom. Under kenyan law a will can be commissioned before a british high commissioner. When making a new will one has to expressly state that they are revoking previous wills, adultery is a ground for divorce... Looks like some lawyers are hard at work. Clearly he was coached on what exactly to say infront of the camera. Poor GK was not flown to the UK merely for sightseeing!
Life is short. Live passionately.

@kusadikika has articulated very clearly the frustrations of dealing with a senile relative. it is extremely challenging. This kirima story is not clear cut case, both sides have valid arguments.

Is that how Gikuyu traditional divorce are carried out?
Didn't know until I watched last evening on Citizen prime.
Where was the Teresia and her sumptuous daughter by the way?
