I need your help.. we need to work as a team to ensure that the Kenyans in the Diaspora are part of the 27th events. There will be an official letter going out regarding this. However if you could start hyping up Kenyans in preparation for the promulgation which is happeing next friday, it will be fantastic. Send emails to all your friends so they can know.. lets change out photos on facebook to the Kenyan flag for this day? etc The main message is below in bold with some background information on the promulgation. PROMULGATION CEREMONY PLAN FOR THE DIASPORA The promulgation of the new constitution by President Mwai Kibaki, on August 27th 2010 is being planned as a major national event. Ushering in of a new constitution will be a rebirth for our country and something that will bring major and important changes that will propel this country to great heights. It is important that all Kenyans in Diaspora ftake part in this great event as they are our Kenyan Ambassadors abroad.
The main promulgation event in Kenya is pla nned to be held at Uhuru Park and will be marked with pomp and will be larger than regular national day celebrations. Leaders from other countries are being invited to join us during the celebrations. To ensure that the whole country participates, representatives from all provinces will travel to Nairobi to take part in the function. The day, August 27, 2010, will also be observed as a public holiday. The key message for KENYANS is Kenya is the only African country to have survived 4 big and potentially destructive elections. This says something about us; we are a tenacious people! Get together in large numbers and celebrate. We are encouraging Kenyans in Diaspora to celebrate : A true democracy as we have demonstrated Our unity, despite of our diversity Our love for our Country Ahead of the promulgation Kenyans are being encourage to wear Kenyan colours, put up our Kenyan flag on your car, in your office and at home. On the 27th August be proud to be Kenyan and show it. This is a momentous occasion so lets celebrate ‘The Kenyan Spirit’ From Brand Kenya International Brand Manager Regards Jacquie Muhati - Lukiri International Brand Manager Brand Kenya Board NHIF building, 4th Floor P.O Box 40500-00100, Nairobi, Kenya Tel: +254 (0) 20 271 5236
