Thanks to Capital Talk i got to learn about this young man-Evans Wadongo, doing great things in our villages.It goes a long way to confirm that we kenyans are never short of skills.

Oh just lifted this from the Evans website which you get to as a link from the CNN Heroes website:

"3. Purchase lamps to help us subsidize the lamps for the very poor
You can order lamps from us at a cost of 30 USD each. For every 2 lamps you order, we make 1 extra lamp for FREE distribution to the very poor.
To order the lamps, email: mwangabora@sustainabledevelopmentforall.org stating your details, the number of lamps needed and the recipient's contacts."
So I've just ordered. Will let you know how it goes.

Look at it this way,the guy has to import some of his materials and there is no tax incentive besides the solar panel which was recently exempted thus the high input cost.All the same its worth it.
