Mourinho in new dig at Wenger and Arsenal: You cannot win

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has had a dig at Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and his team.

Arsenal have not won a trophy since the 2005 FA Cup and Mourinho believes that run will continue given the strength of rivals Chelsea and Manchester United, as well as the new threat posed by Manchester City.

"I don't think Arsenal can win," he told Sky Sports News HD. "Year after year it looks like they will but no. It's always the same type of comment, 'It's a young team, it will be next season'.

Wenger has just signed a new contract keeping him at Arsenal until 2014 and Mourinho said: "It's fantastic for him. I remember we played them in a Carling Cup Final [in 2007] with a team of young boys but they are no longer a team of the youngsters. They are now a team of 25, 26, 27-year-olds.

"Cesc Fabregas, Theo Walcott, Gael Clichy, Alex Song, Bacary Sagna - they're not a team of kids any more, they're of an age to win things but I don't think they will do it.

"I believe Chelsea, Manchester United [can win the title] and, of course, Manchester City because they have a great squad. That's it."

Mwenza......Mourinho has always been on Wenger's case, can't understand his obsession with him. He always has something to say about Arsenal which is very strange coming from a La Liga manager.

Mourinho has won trophies with Porto, Chelsea and Inter but he has always felt that he doesn't quite get the respect he deserves from his success unlike someone like Wenger who is so comfortable where he is despite not winning anything for 5 years.

The man is under pressure. Its brewing inside and needs
to let off steam by having a go at a man he perceive to despise him. And he is vindicated by the total absence of a response which hurts him even more. Wenger will continue to ignore him and that will infuriate Mourinho further.

As usual Jose is taking attention of his team who are about to begin their La liga campaign this weekend by throwing barbs at Wenger.

I also agree that Jose craves the status Wenger and SAF hold in the premier league. Dont know whether with his arrogance he may achieve that though.

Suppose, just suppose that Real are drawn with Arsenal in the champions league.....that would be interesting!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!! Please don't go there. The Barcelona memories are still too fresh. And of coz the memories are not nostalgic to many people.

True, unfortunately for Man U, rumor has it Ferdinand may never fully recover though lets wait and see, Evans now is the recognized full back for that position and he will be tormented to kingdom come, there is the never tiring Tevez to come, Super Mario, Drogba, Torrez,Pavlyuchenko just to name a few and Fergie knows he has his work cut out.

Seems to me this is the end of the road for Rio Ferdinand. We recall how at the start of last season he experienced similar problems!

Evans will fill-in but should not try the kungu-fu kick he did on Drogba last season. A red card would really expose man-U's lack of depth at the back!

When SAF ranted at silly points being dropped and why Nani not Giggs took that damned penalty, I wondered why he would 'break' Nani's spirit so early in the season. But then I came across an extract from Carlo Ancelotti's book and he says how SAF treated him after the loss last season:

Carlo On ... Fergie's tantrums:

Our success at Old Trafford was the one that got us the League title, even though in the end Ray Wilkins and I were forced to drink to our victory alone.

As is the tradition, a few minutes after the final whistle we went to Sir Alex's room to drink the usual glass of wine. We walked in and silence reigned. He sat there starting at a television screen; the set was tuned to a horse race, his greatest love.

We were strictly relegated to the background. We stood awkwardly for a while without saying a word, uncertain what to do, and finally did what we had come to do. We drank a glass of wine, to our own health. Bye-bye.

Even though I won the three games I played against him that season, I still consider Ferguson to be a master of soccer, an example I have always looked up to.
