toilet exhausters now selling 'clean' water

just seen an ex 'honey sucker'.... thats a toilet exhauster.... delivering water at some apartment block in kilimani. i know for a fact that in june it was an exhauster because i used their services. they just painted it blue....and voila... watu wa kilimani watakunyua maji leo...

May be it has been certified clean... as in they applied for 'change and use' to NWSC and were granted the bowser licence after ' inspection'.

It depends on what the water will be used for. Most of the water being sold in Nairobi comes from wells sunk in some shady places where there is no sewage/canalisation. Where do you think the some waste water from those pit latrines goes to? It joins other water underground and goes into those wells. Not all is sucked by the 'honey sucker'. This is then pumped into those water tankers and sold as 'clean' water. So if the so-called honey sucker has been cleaned thoroughly the water therein is also clean. If you have to use that water for drinking purposes,then make sure you boil and filter it well; if possible use those 'water purifying' tablets.

But as the Kikuyu say 'Maai matiri mugiro'. Let @Njung'e translate that for you.
