People have been questioning the sustainability of Zain's strategy,if im not wrong their management said they have ability of pushing this war for the bext 18months with a war chest of kshs. 24billion.mark you these guys are not novices in this industry....so if safcom is waiting zain to fade they need to think again.

In an ideal situation, an investor should not panic. This is not an ideal situation. So, yes, I'm in panic mode. I'm wondering should I sell my entire safcom holding before it goes to sub 5/= or should I wait it out - for the storm to die out. Hapa iko shida.
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

On a scale of 1 - 10, where is your risk appetite - 10 being can take maximum risk and 1 being can't take any risk at all?

I have only a small nest there, so no sweat..my risk appetite is 8. Waiting it out. But sub 4.50 , hopefully it reaches sub 4, and I increase the nest.

Wrong! Telecoms is a technology-driven growth sector with no limits! Name one mobile company in the world that isn't doing alright despite sound management? When the chips are down, they will all "agree" on price fixing! That is what happens in the West - where there is a bare minimum pricing they wont go below.

Yet SafCom, unlike the old Telkom, did not squander their dominance, they invested in the future, which is data and media integration!

Zain needs years to invest as much as Safcom.

Meanwhile, Safcom should refuse to go into price cutting.. instead bundle essential goodies n throw in extras for free...sort of like what 3G Hutchinson does in UK.

Now, wud be a good time to for vodafone to ask MJ how much it takes to remain as MD to deal a lethal one on Bharti.

Still waiting below 4.80...longtermers continue holding kwa matumaini na roho mkujufu.
The utimate goal of investing is to buy low sell high;if we re-write this core equation in psychology terms it becomes buy fear sell greed.

MJ right now is on a flight to UK to convince foreign investors of the value in saf...expect a small rally next week...2011 is when the sh*t will hit the fan.

wooow let the Sellers sell..i wish i was in Kenya right now i would have put my buy order now...btwn Zain will just roast its fingers with those new tariffs...Scom has a cocktail of products to keep Subscribers hooked like drug addicts...Mkesho...Mpesa...The modems....

These airtel jamaas have deep pockets. And they are playing the underdog advantage and historically, the underdog always wins...

As for the mass market, kenyans wanna pay as little as possible for anything. I mean seriously, zain's call quality +reliability is miles better and now it's cheaper....the piles of people that I have got texts from in the last 2 days notifying me of their new zain numbers is phenomenal.

Mpesa u can get on zap, I'm sure equity is working with zain on a similar mzap or something. Modems are crap, they work today really well....tomorrow they don't... Speeds are also unreliable. Sometimes really good n sometimes really shitty...

Competition is always good for consumers...bad for the owners

Thank God I exited saf long time ago! no headache now. av also misplaced my saf line wich I rearly used it for mpesa transactions but I don't think of replacing it. definetly it's time to reactivate my zain line and buy china dual sim phone to enjoy zain and yu calling prices. for saf investors, I would ask u to be loyal to ur company and muendelee kujipa moyo perhaps one day maombi yenu yatajibiwa, amen.

Kenyans support your own...Scom is more Kenyan than this Bharti BS..this Bharti is foreign..Kenyans will never own a single Bharti share..they are even going to suspend their shares from Lusaka stock exchange...all this pple who are coming here saying all this BS are the ones who got roasted during the I.P.O...support Kenyan drink Karoche...thats what i do...i drink Windhoek Lager coz i'm proudly Namibian....
