This rally has too much caution; people are so earger to take profits of 20% or less. Look at the case in point of DTB, it produced fantastic results which should have pushed its share at a conservative price of 140, but at 110 everyone is taking profit

For the rally to be meaningful, more volume is required. The volume size of the NSE20 Chart and NASI Chart do not support a strong rally. A prolonged sideways consolidation is more likely for a few more weeks considering the CBK's 31B bond. .

@pkoli, people are broke, tell me about dtb dividend in this dry times? Is it true when people are cautious about the economy they pursue stocks with caution?, as confidence and overconfidence in the economy happens, stocks do likewise, i see confidence rising tomorrow but....?
@hisa, sorry saw your post late, volumes for Nairobi 'indecis'? are a bit foreignor depedent thus liquid blue chips move and me and mama mbogas rush in to buy and they run away and leave us to wait for their return, anyway, i believe we will also see volume from kesho, toes crossed!

no big deal in that case, the stocks would simply fall since the index is a representative of all stocks.

@hisah. I also think a strong rally will come after foreigners and fund managers are done w/ the infrastructure bond.

i'm not always quick to agree with newspapers stories but..

Market shifts signal shake-ups in portfolio mix
http://www.businessdaily.../-/jv7gu5z/-/index.html

..lower returns on bonds despite security vs. higher returns in equity despite risk (post referandum..econ stable..risk lower in 3rd/4th quarters compared to first 2.. this story might have something to it..

especially if liquidity is not disturbed..thro new investment avenues such as new issues (shares & Bonds)

let mr.market speak for himself then we can go on from there....we have already seen companies announce good results without corresponding price action, that tells you about the sentiment in the market..after the excitement of 3q expect most counters to retreat as "investors" take a hike...but that said the index seems very resilient its valued at pe of 15 while s&p at 20...foreigners will be back in full swing at around Nov awaiting 4q and 1q 2011
The utimate goal of investing is to buy low sell high;if we re-write this core equation in psychology terms it becomes buy fear sell greed.

What's the deal with Pan Africa Insurance? Up 7 percent. Any Wazuan holding the counter?

2,800 shares traded..less than 0.005% of total shares..illiquid counter means few retail traders..probable case of no one selling..nothing much to base as price trend.

ProverB, up 9% now.

@ycsun, I hold a token 500 shares of Pan Africa. Its their H1, eps 4.40 (last FULL year eps 2.90) Since they have sank big time working capital into Mae, I expect a serious bonus this year to preserve funds. Their share capital is also low.

KCB moving HUGE volumes today. Though down as investors take flight because of the impending dilution. Unlikely to go below 17 in my view.
